Friesen Medieval Festival and Wildlife Park

My new waffle maker (courtesy of Amazon.com) came in a week earlier than expected so naturally Justin and I had to try it out!

So now that Justin and I are getting closer to another big move I started cleaning out some of our more useless items... This of course led to a huge crafty distraction. Our house is littered with half chewed up dog toys that I put away at least five times a day but for some reason they always end up strewn around the house five minutes later. These toys are in a sad state of disrepair so I tossed them all. Now before I get called a bad puppy mom I replaced them with brand new "upcycled" toys that I made myself out of old t-shirt scraps (I am attempting to make a t-shirt quilt so I have a LOT of left over scraps). They are super easy and the dogs love them!

They love their new toys

This past weekend I took a break from all of the cleaning, waffle making and crafty toy ideas to head out to Baumholder's Outdoor Recreation Center in order to check out their new archery targets! Justin and I rented a couple a bows and set out to practice. We actually weren't too bad considering how long it had been since we had shot recurve bows!

The next day after a long run with the pups we headed out to Friesen Wildlife Park for a very large medieval festival. This was definitely the best one we have been too yet. The food was delicious, the beer tasty, the performers were very entertaining and we even learned how to throw tomahawks! We finished up the day with a stroll through the wildlife park and petted a pig and baby llama, luckily we did not get spit on...
