Government housing and our new car!!

I promise my dear family and friends I have not forgotten y'all! Instead of my usual forgetfulness at posting updates, we have in fact just been way to busy... So here is a quick overview of January.

Mid January our furniture FINALLY arrived from Texas! No more government issued, hideous semi furniture... And nothing was broken or ruined.  With the furniture arriving we realized just how boring our stark white walls were, so after attending the required army DIY class we were able to get our paint and all of the supplies for free. (One of the upsides to army life...) But of course there is a downside, they only allow about five different colors, all of them pastel.

We are still working on the bedroom but hopefully it will be finished soon! My favorite was deciding on the kitchen. So after a "discussion" with the husband about how he doesn't participate in the decisions about decorations in our apartment he jokingly said we should paint the kitchen pistachio green. You would think he would have learned his lesson about joking with me when I am mad at him... Needless to say the kitchen was painted green and we both ended up loving the color!

A couple of days later we were browsing the "bookoo" websites (basically its like craigslist for military families in germany) and we found this great deal on an older BMW. The next day after checking out the car we made an offer and within a couple of hours we had paid, gotten insurance and transferred the registration! It's a silver 94' BMW 320i coupe, nothing fancy but its in great shape and gets us from point A to point B.

I have been here almost three months and in those months the ONLY time it hasn't snowed was Christmas. All of the sleds have been sold out for a while so we of course improvised and used a child's pool tube to play in the snow! Riley is in love with snow, particularly the areas where the local rabbits are out hopping around. He attempts to track them but he has the attention span of a labrador puppy he gets side tracked easily.

Lots of love, we miss ya'll!
